Ducted air conditioners have three main components.

•    Compressor/motor/fan unit (normally located outside or on a roof)

•    Indoor unit, made up of a fan, electronic controls and ducting

•    A zone control box, which controls the airflow to the ducts.

Ducted systems can be designed with multiple zones. This means you can air condition all of the home, or select different zones at different times of the day, or even completely exclude areas of the home that aren’t being used.
